I have been replaying Portable Ops recently, and noticed something interesting and relevant to my last post about the UFOs in the Metal Gear series.  Roy Campbell's earliest canonical appearance is in Portable Ops, and Sigint is also remotely involved.  If you recruit Sigint in PO, you can talk with him at certain points on the radio, and at one point he informs you of all the top secret tech he's been working on.  The very last thing that he mentions is the one that ends the conversation for being so ridiculous: flying aircraft similar in appearance to UFOs.

So my theory is now this: Roy Campbell and Sigint had this conversation during Portable Ops, and Campbell sort of mocked Sigint a bit and tuned him out because UFOs are so ridiculous.  Sigint was killed 34 years later by Snake, under Campbell's direction.  When Sigint's file and expertise were added to the database for the Patriots' AIs, one of them secretly planned some revenge for Mr. Sigint five years after his demise by abducting Roy Campbell, and I presume anal probing him (why else would you bother abducting?).  The moral of the story: watch who you mock. Because 39 years later, an AI might track you down and anal probe you for revenge like they did to Roy Campbell.

Plausibility Rating: It happened.

Chances of seeing this confirmed in-game: Slim to None.

Chances of that changing my belief that this happened: Slimmer to None.
