For those of you who have been involved with it and have followed me, you might have noticed that the ULG has gone on a hiatus as of earlier today. But I do want to continue with the special events I had planned already outside of the season, and I'm going to do that on this account now. The first one I'd like to talk about is this, originally called a "Modder Challenge".
The idea was just a contest using the character creators of various video games to create the best character. Given the proximity of the Halloween holiday, I naturally can't resist just calling it a costume contest now.
My idea is that we have separate categories for any games used and vote for our favorites from each game, as well as an overall best costume. We can use games like LittleBigPlanet, Saints Row, Fallout, WWE Smackdown, and literally ANY other game that has a character creator. Since I'm tying into the holiday, we'll host our voting and all that about a week before Halloween, so we can properly announce the winners just before the October QuOTM.
To enter, simply comment below. I will accept a maximum of three submissions per game from each person entering, but there's no limit to how many games you can use. When you are ready to show off your creations, simply make a blog post with pictures and explain to us what you were going for with each character, and what game you used. When the time comes for the voting, I'll post a hosted blog with links to your posts and we'll count the votes from that central hub.
I'm thinking we will require each submission to be posted no later than October 22nd, giving us five weeks to put our creations together.
