I'm slightly short on blog ideas at the moment, so here's an old one. I'm going to post videos for two similar songs, and you guys are going to tell me which one you like better. Simple, no?
First up is "Tush" by ZZ Top. Released as a single off their 1975 album Fandango!, "Tush" is a horny dose of Texas Blues about a guy who just wants to get laid.
Next is "No Class" by Motörhead. From their 1979 album Overkill, the single went on to be a centerpiece of their live shows.
There's no doubt in the similarities in the opening riff between these two songs, but it's perhaps a humorous thing to note that the song ripping off a riff from a song about going downtown to get laid is called "No Class". Is that a subtle message, or just a happy ironic accident? Food for thought.
So who do you think wins this battle of the bands? Sound off below.
