I've had this idea going for a few months, but I've held off on posting anything real about it because nobody wants too much too soon. However, with E3 approaching in June, I figure May is the appropriate time to launch
In the past I've done E3 Gambling, where we would wager points on the upcoming event. This will be returning in May in a simplified version that I'll call The E3 Prediction Game. Most categories have an assigned point value, and if you are correct in your prediction you win those points. There's four identical queries per press conference, and then some extras at the end for the show as a whole. Among those there are a few where instead of assigned point values, you get to wager your own. If you win the wager, you get however many points you said. If you lose the wager, that's deducted from your total. Which means that yes, some people can end with negative score.
In the past, I've had prizes and consequences for this thing, and I've decided that what I'll do this time around is that anyone who ends with a negative score will swap icons with another negative user for a month. It's simple, clean, and harmless. Plus, it's good fun where it creates minor confusion. As far as winners go, the person with the highest score will get a header that I make them, which they can use or not use as they please.
I'll make another post in a week or two to officially kick it off and start taking predictions. About that time I'll also start working with the regulars to see about setting up our annual E3 Skype Chats.
Now, you might be wondering why I'm bothering to tell you about this now. Well, the answer is because I need another quote this month. Check back tomorrow for the QuOTM vote!
