So this year has been kind of up and down for me on the blogs, and I want to be more consistent next year. To do that, I'm trying to make a plan for at least the first while to get me into the groove. So for you, my adoring loyal stalker, this is a quick preview of what to expect from this blog in the coming year.

Quote Of The Year

Pretty much my only plan for the rest of this month is to start with the QuOTYs next week. It's not that I don't have some ideas right now to post, but I just don't think that it's the right time for them with people about to take their winter vacations and holidays and whatnot.
And of course, the QuOTM will not be stopping anytime soon, though my inactivity in December will probably lead me to simply skip it this month and include what few quotes I have this month with the QuOTY.

I have finished re-compiling and updating my elaborate collection of one lettered opinions known as my Grading Archive, but not in its original post. Instead, i created a Google Drive spreadsheet and will be keeping up with it on there. I plan to update it regularly and post some reviews for it on here, but I'm also thinking about opening the doors up for some aspiring review writers to join me in expanding the database. Basically, I need to find out if anyone would be interested in making this a bigger project with me, especially if they can cover platforms and games that I simply can't. If I were to get even one person on board with it, I will guarantee them their own free reign to score games based on my grading system as they so choose, and I will allow overlap to review things that I or others have already reviewed with a record of who gave what score. And as the reviews are posted in blogs, links to reviews will be included in the archive itself. I also will promise that there's no requirements, deadlines, or obligation to continue contributing, so no pressure in providing content. This isn't like a website, but more or less an organized way to help people who want to write reviews get noticed (hopefully) by getting them together in a group.
You can check out the new Archive by following this link. If you are interested in joining the DOJNDO Grading Initiative (DGI), then feel free to let me know in the comments below.

I did post not to long ago that the ULG was ready to come back in 2014 for a new type of season, this time focusing on individual play to represent a clan. Since only one person responded to the announcement, I'm left to wonder if it was unseen or unwanted. So now I'm thinking to do away with the season until the ULG has enough activity and following to display a need for one. Instead, I plan on hosting weekly exhibition challenges and monthly events for us to participate in as we see fit. Stat tracking will be available for the bigger events, but not for exhibitions. I'll put up a signup sheet each week with the games we'll be playing that weekend on various platforms, and you can sign up if you want to play with us. Events will include, as I described in the last post: Score Offs, Tournaments, Platinum Races, Speedrun Challenges, and more. if participation in events and exhibitions is strong enough to suggest we can play a regular season, then we'll give it a shot. If not, at least we'll still have some games to play together every now and again.

Moar Music!!!

Not terribly long ago I asked several members of the community if they wanted to participate in creating a set of Beginner's Guides to various music genres. These would explain the various subgenres and styles of those genres, while also giving a brief history and a set of recommendations to get you started with each. Given the craziness of the past couple of months, I decided it was best to wait until January to get that off the ground, but I do still strongly intend to do so. I'll post about it again when the time comes, probably about three weeks from now, to round up those who are still participating and get a few more people involved.

Grinds My Gears
__________________
Yeah, I'm stealing this from Family Guy. Big whoop, wanna fight about it? I'm not 100% sure if I'll actually do this one, but I'm thinking a weekly post that highlights something either in the news or in a game or something that bothers me might spur about some interesting conversations.
For example, you know what really grinds my gears? In Skyrim, any weapons or armor you find or craft will not wear down over time. So no matter what, if you want to be able to smith better equipment you have to go out of your way to smith a bunch of crap you don't need and will never use for anything but barter material. Why couldn't they have made it necessary to sharpen your blades or reinforce your bows as they were used, or to have to repair damages armor. This would have added some experience to Smiting by doing useful things rather than crafting a bunch of extra crap.
Sometimes it'll be little things in games like that, and sometimes it'll be something more substantial or important. Whatever it ends up being, my hope is to at least get a few good conversations going.

All of that should keep me active and busy on here for a while, but I'll probably also come up with more stuff to try out and do as time goes on. Any feedback about this upcoming stuff is appreciated.
